16 November 07Day 146 of 365 new ways to a new you. Congratulations, you have made it this far. Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Are you ready for tomorrow? This is part of a series that is going to span 365 days. Some things will be subtle other activities will be more involved. At the end of the 365 days even if you do only 20 of these things you will be a new person, for better or for worse.
Before I begin with day 146, I must defer you to our Terms and Conditions .
“When men are most sure and arrogant they are commonly most mistaken, giving views to passion without that proper deliberation which alone can secure them from the grossest absurdities”
~David Hume
Day 146: Apologize
It doesn’t matter whether you were at fault or not. Today you need to apologize. If you have a long standing feud, then end it. If you got into a fight with a co-worker, friend, or spouse, apologize for it and make amends. Holding resentment and upset in one’s heart only makes one disdainful. Over time if one allows an upsetting matter to consume them self, they redefine themselves as that remorseless grudge.
Apologizing is a great way to learn humility. Arrogance and ego rule, it is a rare occasion when someone admits they are wrong, especially when they aren’t.
