Balance your checkbook | Day 197
9 January 08Day 197 of 365 new ways to a new you. Congratulations, you have made it this far. Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Are you ready for tomorrow? This is part of a series that is going to span 365 days. Some things will be subtle other activities will be more involved. At the end of the 365 days even if you do only 20 of these things you will be a new person, for better or for worse.

Day 197: Balance your checkbook
For some this may be a daunting task, while others may already have their checkbook balanced. Balancing and keeping track of one’s finances can be daunting and rewarding. Many people now forgo keeping track of their income simply because the bank does it for them.
For one day keep track of all your purchases and deposits. Know how much money you have right down to the penny. If you aren’t sure of your current balance, you can contact your bank or credit union to get the sum amount. Today you are your own accountant.
