Santa’s Sinister Servants

359px-Krampus_Salzburg_2 In the United States and much of the Western World the song Santa Claus is Coming to Town is sung or played on today’s mp3 players, radios, and cd players. All done in anticipation of the arrival Father Christmas. The lyrics are reminiscent of a being that is far more than a simple fat man in red bearing presents.

Visiting Salem

Recently, I had opportunity to spend a few days in Salem, Massachusetts. A place that will forever be marred for its historical past. I arrived to Salem on the 18th of September and left on the 20th, these three days ended up being the 316th anniversary of the day that Giles Corey was pressed to death.

The trip began with checking into a nearby Hotel situated on derby street. A short distance from all of the museums, and historical events. Today Salem is a Mecca of sorts for many practicing wiccans, an irony of Salem amongst many. In 1692 the Salem witch trials took place, in which time 20 people and 2 dogs were convicted of witchcraft. These charges were based entirely upon spectral evidence. Meaning imagination and make believe.

The Book of Thomas the Contender

Translated by John D. Turner

The secret words that the savior spoke to Judas Thomas which I, even I, Mathaias, wrote down, while I was walking, listening to them speak with one another.

The savior said, “Brother Thomas while you have time in the world, listen to me, and I will reveal to you the things you have pondered in your mind.

“Now, since it has been said that you are my twin and true companion, examine yourself, and learn who you are, in what way you exist, and how you will come to be. Since you will be called my brother, it is not fitting that you be ignorant of yourself. And I know that you have understood, because you had already understood that I am the knowledge of the truth. So while you accompany me, although you are uncomprehending, you have (in fact) already come to know, and you will be called ‘the one who knows himself’.
