Fast for the day | Day 68
28 August 07Day 68 of 365 new ways to a new you. Congratulations, you have made it this far. Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Are you ready for tomorrow? This is part of a series that is going to span 365 days. Some things will be subtle other activities will be more involved. At the end of the 365 days even if you do only 20 of these things you will be a new person, for better or for worse.

Fasting has long been a tradition in many religions. It has been essential in Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and even Native American traditions. Ghandi even made use of fasting as a political statement.
*Day 68: Fast for the day *
Go without food for the day; but drink plenty of water and fruit juices if needed . The purpose of this fast is not to deprive the body but to let it relax. Drinking water allows the body to stay hydrated and remain more functional than if it were denied both food and drink. Abstain from alcohol and drugs for this time.
Fasting is believed to physically and spiritually beneficial. When we fast we are giving respect to the divine spirit. We are also giving our digestive organs a chance to relax.
