Day 20 of 365 new ways to a new you. Congratulations, you have made it this far. Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Are you ready for tomorrow? This is part of a series that is going to span 365 days. Some things will be subtle other activities will be more involved. At the end of the 365 days even if you do only 20 of these things you will be a new person, for better or for worse.

On Penn and Teller’s Bullshit; they showed the world that psychics and tarot readers make their predictions based on how someone looks. In my own experience, I have also found that some fortune tellers do not even accurately portray the tarot cards.
Day 20: Get your fortune read by the local psychic
The idea of a fortune teller has conjured images of crystal balls, tarot cards, and bad gypsy accents. Today it is with intent to go visit the fortune teller not as yourself. So if you dress all in black, then go wearing sneakers, jeans and a bright t-shirt. Dress opposite to your personality.
By giving the fortune teller a false persona you can see how “accurate” they really are. The next part of getting your fortune read is to ask a question you already know the answer to. This will leave no room for prediction in your own mind and this will keep them from manipulating you.
Why see the fortune teller? So one can experience first hand the dubious nature of the psychic. The only thing worse than a psychic is one who believes in their “powers”.

The initial results seem to be quite good. Basically, it is just an iron oxide and actually provides much less soluble iron than an ordinary iron supplement tablet. The thing is that it does seem to enhance the senses of those who take it. All six senses. Magnetite has been used for thousands of years in traditional Chinese therapy (which isn’t necessarily a good thing as they also used mercury compounds and other nasties) but the consensus there is that it does increase sensitivity (and is excellent for a prolapsed colon) :-)
