I experience hypnogogic hallucinations all the time as part of a hypnogogic state, too much in fact. My wife thinks that I'm falling asleep, but it doesn't feel like sleep. I first noticed them many years ago, but I never thought of them as a spiritual experience until I read about it in your article and other writings. In fact, it is usually a scary experience because I have no control over when I have them, and I can have them at very inopportune times like during meetings at work. Do you know any way that I could get some control over these hypnogogic states? I feel like I understand all of the things you are talking about. Do you think that I could get control of this by experimentation or meditation?
