There is no God | Day 300
7 May 08Day 300 of 365 new ways to a new you. Congratulations, you have made it this far. Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Are you ready for tomorrow? This is part of a series that is going to span 365 days. Some things will be subtle other activities will be more involved. At the end of the 365 days even if you do only 20 of these things you will be a new person, for better or for worse.

Day 300: There is no God
For a moment theorize there were no God, no consequences, no law, you are in place you will never be again. What do you do? Would you rob, murder, or steal? Would you stay the course you are on now knowing full well there were no consequences divine or mortal? Would you be good for the sake of good or would you revert to your primal instincts? Spend some time pondering the idea then consider the same thing in current context.

Since atheists don’t stand out as a group creating particular mayhem in the world and believers don’t stand out as unusually saintly or even scandal-free group, I think we can consider that the experiment’s been done:
Whatever else we may want to say concerning belief in God, belief doesn’t create morality and disbelief doesn’t create immorality.
