This is part of a series that is going to span 365 days. Some things will be subtle other activities will be more involved. At the end of the 365 days even if you do only 20 of these things you will be a new person, for better or for worse.
Before I begin with day 149, I must defer you to our Terms and Conditions .
It has been said that the dead can hear when we think of them. Unfortunately, we have no way to prove nor disprove this notion.
Day 149: Write a letter to the departed
Write a letter to the departed. It can be a letter to someone you know that passed away, a random person at a cemetery, or someone you read about in the news. It does not matter who you write to. Write a sincere letter to them as if they will be able to someday read it. The subject matter isn’t important just be curtious.
After you are done with the letter burn it. The idea behind burning the letter is the flame represents a connection to the other world. Burning the letter allows the contents of the letter to travel through the smoke to the ethers of the otherside. It is this symbolism that will help you to envision the letter reaching its destination.
